My Current Skin Care Routine

Since I’ve entered my thirties, I’ve noticed my skin has changed. To me it just looks a little more mature. I’ve yet to start my anti-aging regimen as of today, but I know it’s soon to come. I’m very particular when it come to my skin. I wear makeup to work everyday so it’s important that I take the time to make sure my skin is taken care of properly. I have to make sure that there are no traces of makeup left behind to prevent breakouts.

I have combination skin, I’m typically oil in my T-Zone area. I can get dry on my cheeks and around my mouth depending on the weather and other things. I make a point to cleanse, tone, and moisturize my skin daily twice a day. If you need help with creating basic skin care routine, check out this popular post here.

I’m going to list the products and tools I use on my skin below.

  1. I use two different cleansers to help cleanse my skin. I use the Ambi Cocoa Butter Bar for morning cleansing. I just want to wake my skin up in the morning. It doesn’t need to deeply cleansed. I also have some dark spots that I want to fade, so this is doing two things at once for me and I love it. I will use the Ambi Cocoa Butter Bar at night, if I don’t wear makeup.

  2. After Cleansing, I tone my skin. Currently I use a Aloe + Rose Water skin tonic by pearl essence spray that I purchased at TJ Maxx. I love it! I also love using Dickinson’s Witch Hazel to tone my skin.

  3. To moisturize my skin I use serums. They can be used without a moisturizer or with one. I recently got a sample of the Clinique gel moisturizer and I love it. It’s lightweight and works well with my makeup. I will mix one drop of my serum with a small amount of my moisturizer. I have a day serum and a night serum. Both of my serums were purchased at TJ Maxx when I purchased my Tonic Spray.

I follow the same steps when cleansing my skin at night…Cleanse, Tone, and Moisturize. I wear makeup so when it comes to cleansing my skin I have to do a little more than a simple routine. I usually start by using a makeup cleansing wipe to remove my makeup. My favorites of all time are the Neutrogena Deep Clean Makeup Remover Wipes. They are THE BOMB!! If by chance I can’t get my hands on them, I will use whatever I have on hand. I’m currently using the Target Up & Up exfoliating wipes. I like to use two wipes to make sure I have removed all of the visible makeup. After I’ve removed all of my makeup I like to use my Neutrogena Deep Clean Cleansing Gel. This is BAE!

I purchased a spin brush similar to a Clarisonic from my local TJ Maxx for less than $20 (if you haven’t gathered by now, their skin care section is AMAZING)! it has two settings (high and low). I wet the brush head, and apply just a small amount of cleanser and brush away at the highest speed. It’s Amazing!! I love it and the results. I immediately could tell a difference in my skin once I started to incorporate my spin brush into my skin care routine. If I decide not to use my spin brush I will use my facial buff sponges from Target. Mia Ray from Glamaholic Lifestyle told us about these and I have been hooked. I love the way these help my skin to look smooth and fresh. I swear they took my skin care routine to another level. These two skin care tools help to make sure all makeup is removed and that my pores are free from all of the makeup I’ve worn that day.

Saturday’s are literally my “Spa Day Saturdays’s” I make sure to use a facial mask. The mask that I use (because I have quite a few different ones) depends on my mood. The one I reach for often is the Queen Helene’s Mint Julep Mask. I also love the Freeman’s Facial Masks. I also recently discovered the Sephora Collection Clay Masks.

What are some of your favorite skin care products to use? Drop them below in the comments, I’d love to try them!
